How to make bread with the little chefs of the house. Accustomed as we are to going to the bakery to buy it, we have forgotten the custom of our grandparents of making bread with our own hands and in our own oven. So let's invite the kids into the kitchen and let's get to work! The experience of mixing ingredients, kneading the flour, and watching it turn into delicious bread is even more rewarding. Although there are different ways of making bread, we have found a very simple and above all, faster than the traditional ones.
To bake bread, you don't need to be a cooking expert. Apart from that, seeing how children enjoy helping us generates a moment of complicity and union. So get to work!
- 300 gr. strength flour
- 165 gr. warm water
- 15 gr. fresh baker's yeast
- 2 tablespoons (soup) of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
How to make homemade bread:
1- In a bowl, mix the flour with the yeast.
2- When they are very well mixed, add the oil and warm water, and mix everything very well with the help of a wooden spoon.
3- When you get a homogeneous dough, add the salt.
4- Knead everything well until an elastic and uniform dough is achieved.
5- Grease a glass container (the kind that come with a lid) and introduce the dough into a ball.
6- Brush the dough with oil and make a few cuts on its surface. Sprinkle with a little flour, and put the glass lid on.
7- Take to the preheated oven at 220 degrees, for about 50 to 60 minutes.
8- After this time, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool on a rack.
